When faced with a changing industry or a set of unknowns about an emerging one, certain entrepreneurs rise to the occasion.

Crain's Salute to Entrepreneurs awards recognize the problem-solving and business acumen at work among local entrepreneurs and second-stage companies. The goal is to highlight the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders who are helping to reinvent Southeast Michigan.

This year's four winners will be recognized and participate in an entrepreneurship panel on Nov. 30. The 7:30-10 a.m. event at the Gem Theatre in Detroit also will include keynote speaker Bob Fish, CEO and co-founder of Biggby Coffee, who will talk about developing his startup business into the fastest-growing coffee franchise in the Midwest. Nearly 200 executives and business owners are expected to attend this event.

Winners are featured in the November 15 issue of Crain's Detroit Business and honored at the Salute to Entrepreneurs event on Tuesday, Nov. 30.
